More rains expected in various parts of the country today

A spot-check by Radio Generation Kenya revealed that most roads in the capital were significantly flooded with the Weatherman warning the rains could intensify today.
Kenya Meteorological Services Director Dr David Gikungu said the rainfall will be above 20mm.
He said areas to be affected include parts of the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi area and southeastern lowlands.
"The heavy rainfall is likely to intensify to more than 30mm and spread to parts of northwestern Kenya to Monday March 10, 2025," said Gikungu.
It is projected to reduce in intensity from March 11, 2025."
He added the counties to be affected are Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Homabay, Siaya, Migori, Busia, Kisumu, Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Baringo, Nakuru and Trans-Nzoia.
Others are Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Turkana, Marsabit, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Nairobi, Machakos, and Kajiado.
Meanwhile the National Transport and Safety Authority is cautioning motorists to be careful on roads and watch out for flooding during this rainy season.
"What looks like a shallow puddle could be deeper and dangerous than it seems," said the Authority in a post on X.
